Several Causes To Inform The Wife About Preferring Baseball
For many people not enamored to the sports, being keen on baseball might be something short of insanity. For them there is no fun in seeing grown-up men chase a small ball, flung or hit by another grown-up man who obviously wanted the ball to go way off the reach of others. But for baseball aficionados, it is the greatest game in the world, even celebrated in little pieces of cardboard called baseball cards. Most cherished are Topps baseball cards, those simple memorabilia of the eminent men of baseball, complete with the performance statistics, names, signatures and other information so dear to the hearts of baseball fans.
But how come baseball is so admired? The first reason is because it is a viewer sport. Since it is played in a large area, it may be viewed by many persons. Even if viewing is confined to the number of people who line the edge of the baseball field, the number is still more. Contrast baseball to chess and you get the idea. If merely a portion of the number gets truly interested in the sports, the real fans will be greater in number. One unassailable proof is the gigantic arenas geneally for staging baseball games.
Second, baseball is an actionsport. There is much action, but normally in flurries, so the spectator is not overpowered. A viewer can truly follow the movement of the important players as they sprint around the bases, throw the ball, or run home to score. But breath-taking, quick action happens quite often, enoughsufficient to get people enthusiastic in watching the games. Furthermore, the game is quite easy to keep up with, the players clearly viewable, winning and losing readily grasped.
Then, it is a game of deeds. The guyplayer who bats the ball to beyond the field and make numerous homeruns is a hero. The pitcher who regularly outs his batting opponents is a hero. The outfielder who gets the fly ball with the bright sun shining in his eyes is a hero. Anyone who accomplishes a home run against great odds, is also a hero. They may be rare, true, but they are there and you must watch the games to witness them.
Baseball is a many player sports, from two persons to 20 or even more. It is versatile enough that from two players one bats, the other as pitcher and fielder it can include to as many as desired, as long as the field can hold them and all agrees to the arrangement.
Then it is sports for everyone. For all ages, any status, from all walks of life: there is no discrimination or prerequisites. A son, a father or a grandfather and all the others between and all family affinities can see it at the same time, in the same stadium, for the same reasons. It makes for a great bonding not only for family members but for acquaintances, neighbors and perhaps strangers.
Finally, it is a game of proficiency, guts, willpower and cleverness, all of which we believe ideal for ourselves and hence in others, too.
